I’m an American woman who’s been living in The Netherlands for eleven years. I’m married to Mr. J and have two children: a son (Little J) and a baby daughter (Little K).
I chose Kymber in Mothering-Land because it sounds a bit like Alice in Wonderland. Carroll was apparently on LSD or dropping acid when he wrote it, thus fueling his imagination. It’s a surreal story, and parenting is a bit surreal, too. I sometimes feel like Alice confonted by cheshire cats or those guards dressed like playing cards for the Queen of Hearts. ‘What comes next? How do I handle this? Will I ever get out of the rabbit hole?’

Brilliant comparison to real life, as I’m sure it must feel. Let’s see how it unfolds, shall we? Good thing you’ve got some excellent raw materials to work with while navigating the rabbit hole.
